Best decision we made for our wedding
Michael was a fantastic addition to our wedding. We sent him a list of our favorite artists and tracks, and he very diligently played all of our favorites. There was no cheesyness! No "my taste is better than yours". Just straightforward and thoughtful arrangements. He regularly checked with us about the sound level and adjusted according to our taste. He kept us on track with timing, and made announcements as needed. He took song requests from my guests -- but also checked with me to make sure it was something I was comfortable hearing, which was extremely thoughtful and much appreciated. I highly recommend him!
Michael was hands down the best vendor at our wedding. He was enthusiastic and fun, making the night all about us unlike some DJ's we have seen at other weddings who need attention. One of the most important things was that he was highly communicative. If we emailed him, he would respond the same day if not within the hour. He was so much fun, took the handful of songs we gave him and expanded on them beautifully, nothing felt out of place. He even got us a beautiful personalized gift. DJ Demby cares and goes above and beyond to make your event special and fun!
DJ Demby is the best! We had him DJ our wedding in October 2018 and couldn’t have been happier.
He was very responsive to us throughout the hiring and planning process and was clear about what he could provide, what we should expect, and how we could work with him to customize our event. We created a playlist with the types of music we preferred and shared it with him a month or so before the event along with a breakdown of special requests like a first dance, a hora, father-daughter dance, etc. He did a superb job directing these particulars, making announcements when needed (e.g. time for cake!), and he checked in with us when appropriate regarding the music and anything we needed. He also came through at the last minute with some lighting effects, which was crucial. We’ve been to events with subpar DJs who play the music they prefer, but DJ Demby is not that type of artist. We gave him a "must play" list and he hit every song on there!
I highly recommend him for his professionalism, talent, and performance. Also, he's an all around good guy. We'll definitely be recommending him to family and friends.

He went over and above expectations by providing a playlist/soundtrack to our daughter’s birthday that all ages enjoyed.
He kept the volume perfect throughout the party and really added to everyone’s enjoyment.
I would never host a party that needed music going forward without hiring him.

Michael was instrumental to me and my husband's wedding this past Friday at 632 on Hudson. From the ceremony music to the reception, everyone had a great time and the music flowed together as one. Michael also communicated with me multiple times before the wedding and was flexible with requests. Throughout the wedding, he was on point with each timeline and made sure things were running smoothly. I highly recommend Michael for any event!
Michael was absolutely wonderful from the very first phone call! He was available through Skype, phone and personal meeting for months before our event. We hired Mike as a DJ for our high school’s Senior prom. Mike did a great job with communication throughout the process (emailed back promptly, spoke on the phone, asked for any requests I had, etc..). He was there early the night of the event, and was prepared when we had to start. His music choices were solid, and the kids even got to submit requests as the night was going on - I haven’t seen that done yet! Would recommend Mike to anyone needing a DJ.
I had the pleasure of watching DJ Mike Demby lead an awesome Bat Mitzvah in Brooklyn this past Sunday. His timing was impeccable, music was eclectic and energizing, and the guests didn’t want to leave! I overheard several attendees mention his great work and the parents guaranteed to use his services for their younger children. The venue layout had several levels and rooms so I was very impressed with DJ Mike Demby’s ability to work the crowd and get everyone involved. In addition, he worked so great with the kids that during a game one team named themselves, “We Love Mike”! LOL

We cannot say enough about DJ Michael Demby. I have personally been to parties he has hosted for thousands in NYC and have known him for many years now. We were thrilled when he agreed to DJ our wedding in Maplewood. He brought the same level of energy and professionalism that he is famous for, and was surprisingly reasonably priced. He seamlessly transitioned our wedding from ceremony, to cocktail hour, to reception. Admittedly we were not the easiest group to work with, with very unique and eclectic tastes. Many of our requests were local and lesser known artists, which he was able to skillfully mix in to the classics and more popular music enjoyed by all generations. Our friends are not exactly known for their dancing but somehow Mike made it happen. The playlist was ordered perfectly to match the timeline of the evening and his announcements and shoutouts got everyone out of their seats! So many things made our night special but Mike was able to tie them all together with the music. He truly exceeded our expectations.

We recently had a party with 16 kids (5 to 8 year olds) . Michael was great at keeping them busy with fun games and songs. They had a blast. We would recommend him for sure.
I booked DJ Demby for my daughters Bat Mitzvah. In the planning stage we had multiple conversations, and he was very helpful with timeline suggestions or advice on the party ideas (i.e. how a bunch of 12-year-olds may behave in a particular situation, which will prevent you from making some bad decisions). He was very accommodating with last minute changes and wishes from either me or my daughter, whose input Michael took very seriously, and she really appreciated it. The party itself was awesome. We had about 50 sort of shy pre-teens at the first Bat Mitzvah in the class, and then some more kids of different ages. Not an easy crowd to entertain. DJ Demby did a great job keeping them engaged with all sorts of games, contests and dances (with his awesome dancer, to whom I also give a lot of credit). He accommodated multiple requests and last minute ideas. Everyone had a great time,The Bat Mitzvah girl felt super special and he made it happen. I highly recommend him for your DJ needs, and I know that next time I'm in a "need to get a DJ" situation I will be calling Michael Demby. Thank you again!

Life is made of discovery. We had the chance to meet Michael during a party at our restaurant during December. All our staff came to told us that this was the best music they ever heard from a DJ so far. As an evident consequence, we chose him to animate our New Year's Eve and he gave us something unique, a real performance from a real DJ. DJ Michael Demby was the DJ at our wedding in Manhattan. He did a great job with announcements and music, and definitely kept the dance floor moving. He made sure to incorporate all of our requested songs. I asked for more oldies/classic rock with some pop and he had a great mix of music. We received compliments on his skills all night!
Michael is a phenomenal DJ! We had guests on the dance floor the entire night. He played all of our song requests and he also played such a great variety of music so everyone could enjoy it. A DJ can make or break your wedding and Michael made it fantastic!
We had a Bar Mitzvah for our son this past April and DJ Michael Demby made our event outstanding!!! Michael is very talented, organized and extremely affable. He was easy to work with right from the moment we first made contact. Michael is full of great party ideas. At our event, he played our selected music expertly, timing every song perfectly. He provided terrific suggestions for the music and was able to get everyone involved in dancing. If you have an event involving children, Michael is truly skilled in working with kids and knows exactly what to do to keep them engaged and happy. We had SO MUCH FUN with a number of party games he proposed, involving both children and adults. Our guests are still talking about how much fun they had :-). Just had our Wedding last weekend and being an OCD perfectionist bride wasn't easy, but as soon as Michael came and he took complete control. In a good way- not those snobby i know what I'm doing or only my way or the high way or I'm an artist, i don't care what you want. He is so comfortable and easy to work with and after interviewing months of different DJ's, i really needed someone who would prioritize my needs while implementing their professional input. We loved his sense of work ethics. Michael is very meticulous where he makes sure to check-in with you from time to time throughout your engagement as well as a thorough phone call a week before to do final rundowns. It was just too easy and pleasant to work with him! We believe in chemistry, and we really hit it off with Michael right from the first meeting! I will be reaching out again for my future events! Michael was a great DJ for our wedding. He was very professional as he was completely prepared for what we wanted. We had a song list prepared for the wedding and reception, and he had similar songs that complimented our selections. He was very flexible and patient for last minute additions and changes, and asked at our wedding reception if we wanted any new songs played. He was fully prepared with speakers to play outdoors for the wedding, and in doors for the reception. Everyone had a blast and mentioned how fun our wedding was. I highly recommend Michael to be a DJ for a wedding or a party.
ESNJ had our 6th Annual Glow Walk Run at Liberty State Park on October 26th. DJ Demby was a fantastic addition to the event this year. Our walk was Halloween themes and DJ Demby provided the right music, games and entertainment for our attendees. DJ Demby was able to interact professionally with our staff and guest. I have seen a lot of DJs in my life but DJ Demby is one of the best DJs out there! I've been to many parties and many clubs throughout my youth, but Mike makes the night out even more enjoyable and so much fun!
