Here Comes the Guide

For any DJ services, book me here and you can find photography, videography, and photo booths with my other company Fresh New Angle Events, and mention my name when asked.

I was recently added as a Here Comes the Guide vendor. If you're not familiar with the site, it's a team of Type-A women obsessed with bringing the very best information to couples planning their wedding. The site is great, and easy to use. They also offer a Wedding Checklist, which is super detailed and perfect for the bride who needs some guidance (don't we all?!).

You can find my profile here, and I extend a special offer of a free lighting package to the brides on the site.

In order to become a vendor, I was asked some unique questions, which I had a great time answering. I've pasted them below for your reading.

What drew you to this field/how did you get started?

I've always been an outgoing and empathetic person, who enjoys the act of making others smile. About 20 years ago, I was approached by the DJ at an event who needed help during the summer. After my first event, I never looked back from the opportunity to make people smile during their special time.

Why should someone hire you?

Someone should hire me because I will, if necessary, walk you through the entire process and make sure you are satisfied, while keeping the party moving and guests entertained through the event.

Tell us about a favorite, unusual or very interesting moment at a wedding:

My favorite wedding moment is the cake cutting, toast, and bouquet/garter toss. I love the individualism of each event and find it exciting that no one is the same. Throwing in a surprise twist during the sequence always provides interesting and memorable moments for each party.

What's your favorite quote?

My favorite quote is one that I like to say: "Life is less about what you know, more about who you know, but mostly about who knows you and what they say about you after your name."

If you could have any superpower on the job, what would it be?

If I could choose any superpower to have on the job, it would be to have super speed. Usually, I handle large events as a one-man-show, which means I'm responsible for engaging guests, providing ever-changing mood-contingent music, and coordinating multiple steps in a complex dance over the span of four hours. Having a little extra speed would go a long way.

If you are engaged and planning a wedding, I recommend giving the site a try. Besides showcasing vendors, there are also venues listed for each city. The site is a great resource, and you should check it out!
