Planning a Party for Kids: Top Tips
Parents worry a lot about their kids' birthday parties. There are a lot of things to think about, like whether or not you will handle everything yourself and how many people will be there.
For any DJ services, book me here and you can find photography, videography, and photo booths with my other company Fresh New Angle Events, and mention my name when asked.
Managing your kids’ and the families’ expectations is a job that takes some work but is doable with careful planning. Which brings us to the first point…
Plan
Planning will probably be the most important thing you can do to make it through a children's party.
Getting ready and planning ahead will make your life much easier, whether you need to book a place or just get things in order at home. It will help you stay organized when sending invites and putting together the party bags, without worrying about where to find the right things.
Age
Your child’s age makes a big difference. Even if there are no activities planned, toddlers and kids not yet in school could be happy with just one or two friends coming over for pizza and juice. But a more organized plan would be needed for kids who are a little older. For ideas, try these fun games that I play at Mitzvah parties.
If you want to make sure the child is happy with the plan you make, it might be a good idea to include the child in the process. When the birthday child is crying in the corner because they would rather be doing anything else, it is not fun a fun party.
Location
Parties can be held in many different places, from your own home to restaurant halls and other similar spaces, as well as spots with obstacle courses, swimming pools, laser tag, and other similar activities.
By the time you throw your first party for kids, it is a good bet that your child has probably already been to at least one or two. This should give you a good idea of what is in your area. You could also ask other parents for advice (try at school or even in neighborhood groups on social media) or check out what to do at nearby recreation centers and indoor play areas. Consider some of the more expensive venues known to be a bit higher, the prices for kids' parties are surprisingly low. Most entertainment and recreation centers offer some kind of kids' party option to fill in for times without a bigger event. A bonus is that some offer catering to take the stress off planning the food.
Theme
While a theme is not necessary for a party, it can be helpful. You can come up with games and activities centered around the theme, making the games and activities feel new and exciting.
If have got your theme then why not try a Glambot robotic cinema arm, this is better than any photo booth so you can show off your amazing partywear, captured in moving video.
This makes it easier to choose things like table decorations from Just Artifacts and invitations that go with the theme. Some other ideas are making crafts or customizing a fun gift.
Final point
At a kids' party, all anyone wants is for the kids to run around and play together, maybe do some games or arts and crafts, eat some food, and be happy when they leave. You might remember that you were supposed to put napkins on the table, but if you forget, the kids will not even notice!
