Banish Guest Boredom At Your Wedding

As a bride or groom, it's very unlikely that you will get bored at your wedding! After all, it's such a significant day for you emotionally, and everyone will want to spend time with the happy couple! However, the same can't always be said for your guests. Weddings can often feel like long drawn-out occasions with lots of waiting for them, something that can lead to a lower level of energy and a lack of a party feel. The good news is there are some smart ways to ensure your wedding guest never gets the chance to even be a tiny bit bored. Read on to find out what they are.

Put games on for your guests

First of all, if you want to give your guests something to keep them busy during downtimes like when you are having your photos taken, games are a great idea! There is so much choice to consider here too, from some relatively sedate board games in the bar at your venue, to much more active options like Giant chess, checkers, and Jenga.

Take a look at some of my favorite games that I run for Bar and Bat Mitzvahs. These can be incorporated into weddings by changing some minor elements.

For a more refined option, you may even wish to offer lawn croquet or boules for your guests. Just be sure that the drinks and hors d'oeuvres are flowing as well, and they will be happily entertained for ages.

Food and drink

While we are on the subject of food and drink, it's best to offer a range of refreshments throughout the day if you don't want your guests to get bored, or hangry! This often means a drink directly when arriving at the venue as well as plates or hors d'oeuvres and appetizers to keep people going before the main meal.

Hire a photobooth

Another genius option for those looking to keep their guests entertained is a photo booth. Indeed, the great thing about this type of amusement is that you can make it available throughout the day, so whenever anyone finds themselves with a spare minute they will have something fun to do. Photo booths like the ones on offer from Jersey Photo Booth Rental or (if you’re in South Africa) Wonder Booth Photo Booths are also ideal for weddings because they provide you and your guests with a lasting fun memory of a special day.  Of course, to get the most out of them you must invest in the right props as well - the funnier the better!

Here is a list of some great photo booth options:

Run a quiz or treasure hunt

You can also keep your guests entertained by running a quiz or treasure hunt during the day. Although, it's best to begin this once the ceremony is over. You may even wish to theme this type of quiz to you as a couple, the venue, or anything else you like even building clues into the décor including table numbers, and displays!

In particular, creating a treasure hunt with small prizes and candy can help kids stay amused at even the longest of weddings. Although you’ll probably find that lots of parents will want to ‘help’ them decipher the clues and find the treasure too.

Lastly, getting away from the standard wedding traditions can be fun for your guests to experience. Here are some great ideas to upend wedding traditions.
